Hudson Montessori’s 7th Annual Social Studies Fair will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2016. The fair showcases our children’s academic journey with this year’s theme, The Olympics. The central attraction, the Exhibit Hall, is the fruition of a year-long study that was integrated into many aspects of the school’s curriculum. What makes “The Olympics” a unique topic is that the children have not only looked at the Olympics as a series of sporting events, but have delved into its history, present and future. They have studied what it takes to become an Olympic athlete and what it takes to become a host country. All of this culminates in the exhibits where they have applied their knowledge and skill to develop their displays. The event also includes a carnival for more than 500 people to be held in Zeppelin Hall, the large event space adjacent to the school, which promises fun for all ages. We will feature food from local Jersey City vendors, and activities that include bounce houses, craft tables, face painting, photo booths, and a mix of sport stations that celebrate the 2016 Summer Olympics.
