 mmy Award-Winner John Hammond is one of musicâ€™s most accomplished ac
 oustic blues artists, with a career that continues to be strong after 
 six decades. His self-titled debut on Vanguard Records in 1962 was the
  first of more than 30 albums, including his most recent release, 2014
 â€™s Timeless.\n\nHammond, who has played well over 4,000 shows during
  his career, has been nominated for numerous Grammy Awards, from 1993â
 €™s Got Love if You Want It to 2010â€™s Rough & Tough. Â He won a Gram
 my in 1985 for Blues Explosion, a compilation from the Montreux Jazz F
 estival. Â He has performed or recorded with dozens of artists, includ
 ing Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters and Howlinâ€™ Wolf, and w
 rote the soundtrack for the 1970 Dustin Hoffman film, â€˜Little Big Ma
 n.â€™\n\nHammond was the Blues Music Award winner for Acoustic Artist 
 of the Year in 2011, the same year he was inducted into the Blues Hall
  of Fame. In 2012, Hammond was inducted into the New York Blues Hall o
 f Fame.\n\n\"John's sound is so compelling, complete, symmetrical and 
 soulful with just his voice, guitar and harmonica, it is at first impo
 ssible to imagine improving it,\" says his longtime friend and collabo
 rator Tom Waits. \"He's a great force of nature. John sounds like a bi
