This course is built around Scratch, a simple yet powerful programming language developed at MIT that uses color-coded blocks that appeal to young students. Scratch is the most popular language for young programmers, with about seven million users around the world.

About Our Instructor: Sam Rausa, the instructor, is a middle-school computer science teacher. He’s the Technical Editor of Scratch for Kids for Dummies, to be published by Wiley this spring. He’s also a member of the National Program Committee of the Computer Science Teachers Association. Mr. Rausa is completing his master’s degree in Information Technology at Harvard University.
