We recently moved to the suburbs and will soon be looking to hire a full time nanny. We are considering the option of a live in nanny and wanted some info from those who have experience hiring a live in nanny.

1) In a live-in nanny arrangement are there set hours that the nanny works? Do you pay overtime if you need an extension of timing on particular days?

2) What is the general pay scale for taking care of  a 1 yr old  baby full time and a 5 yr old when he is back from school and on days off. It would be good to get an indication for both live in and live out nanny pay scales.

3) What is the general leave, public holidays and vacation policy. Is this the same as a live out full time nanny.

4) What are the other differences between a live in and live out nanny.

5) Has anyone moved to the Bergen county area in NJ and have experience looking for or hiring a nanny here. How difficult was it to find a live in/ live out nanny.
