RIMLI ROY
Surati Founder and Artistic Director RIMLI ROY has trained in three distinct Indian classical dance forms and is a recipient of grants and awards from the Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Rimli has performed, choreographed and trained in a wide variety of traditional folk dances from India and has been exposed to various world cultures, traditional and contemporary forms of music and dance for over three decades.

Other than Indian classical dance forms Rimli also experiments with folk dances, as well as a fusion of the three above-mentioned genres of Indian Classical dance and has choreographed group dances for major stage and television programs.

Rimli has today developed her own creative / innovative genre of dance which she blends into her choreographed dance pieces. Rimli's strength lies in her new and innovative concepts, themes and choreography coming live on stage and television which traverses the wide range from traditional Indian dance theatre and music to more innovative / contemporary explorations and partnerships of World dance and music with Indian performing and visual arts.

Rimli and the Surati team have performed in New York City at prestigious events and venues like for Incredible India's Annual Road Show (the Indian Ministry of Tourism) and the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (Indian Ministry of Textiles), The Kennedy Center and The Library of Congress (Washington D.C), The Reichhold Center at the University of the U.S Virgin Islands, The Rutgers University (NJ), The Alaska Performing Arts Center (AK), The Las Vegas Convention Center (NV), The Jacob K.
