Product/Project Manager, Iterate Health
Job Description
The New York Academy of Medicine is looking for a Product/Project Manager to lead its new mHealth initiative Iterate Health. This is a hands on position to help define, drive, and execute on the product strategy and roadmap that will help develop a portfolio of consumer mHealth products aimed at making meaningful positive impacts on population health issues such as obesity, cardio-metabolic diseases, and general wellness. Please note that this is for a contractor who will support Iterate Health and the person in this role will be working with a core team of the Academy leaders and using external engineering/development resources. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Research, this is a highly visible position that will interact at all levels of the Academy and with partner organizations.
The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, highly analytical, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and a self-starter who is a fast learner. You will be obsessed with creating and delivering mobile health products that have a broad appeal while being designed with the primary mission of addressing the needs and challenges of vulnerable populations ( defined by socio-economic status, geographic location, and race or ethnicity). You should have experience in creating business requirements and driving improvements. You must have a proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
Strategic Objectives:
- Work with the relevant Academy team members to identify and establish working partnerships with funding, development, and advisory organizations as well as have direct community involvement.
- Develop the strategy and tactics that will define and drive the Iterate Health program and secure user adoption and necessary partnerships. This includes identifying possible monetization strategies.
- Gather, prioritize, and document user-focused product requirements.
- Own, manage, and execute on product roadmaps.
- Establish scalable and sustainable operational processes.
- Collaborate with the relevant the Academy team members for go-to-market planning.
- Establish an analytics system for ongoing product optimization and to provide data for the Academy researchers.
- Communicate status of projects and performance of products.
- Use data to inform product improvements and to identify new product opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 4+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters of Business Administration or other relevant advanced degree preferred
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team without having direct supervisory responsibility
- Have a strong track record of shaping business strategy for technical products or services
- Possess a strong understanding of population health issues
- Be conversant with internet technologies especially mobile technologies
- Interact well with multiple public and private funding, development, and advisory organizations
