Hi All,

I am considering moving into the James Monroe building. I would appreciate your input in terms of living experience at the building - building management, frequency of maintenance cost increases, noise level, cleanliness, quality of balcony/external materials, heating/water/window insulation, etc. Anything else one should know before deciding to move in? Also, has anyone used a contractor for renovations inside the apt there? If so, could you please share the contact info? How much is the monthly garage parking there?

Thank you,
DM

We lived in the building for about 5 years. The location is great. Building is old, some issues are expected. I think they have lots of renovations going on in the lobby at the moment. They have a small gym in the building as well. Insulation - I guess it may depend on the apartment, our electric bill in winters was a lot! Can't speak for maintenance cost as we were tenants. If you're on the lower floor, you may hear the garbage trucks in the morning otherwise the noise wasn't bad.
