Posting on behalf of a friend: Looking for a reliable, trustworthy babysitter to pick up my 1 year old from day care in Hoboken and bring him home to Newport (20-25 minute walk). Our nanny, Preethi, will be available for a full-time position in the Jersey City/Newport/Hoboken area beginning October 2nd. She is in her early 30s and very very loving, jovial, trustworthy, energetic (my son is very high energy) and is never complaining. She has been with us since my son was 6 months and the only reason I am posting this is because my son will be starting daycare earlier than expected. At 6 months, my son was very hard to put down for a nap but she took care of him well, was very patient and uncomplainingly handled his poor sleeping habits. She is very resourceful, made friends with other nannies and takes him out to the park, or playdates everyday. She also makes his meals when I don't have time and makes a lot of variety (we are vegetarian). She also started potty training him, teaching him to put away toys and other behavioral things. She also took the time and was patient to break down his various hang ups (against solid foods, sand, water etc). She speaks english (she's lived in the US since her early teens), hindi and punjabi (that I know of). I highly recommend her and will be sorry to see her go! Our nanny will be available for a full-time position in the Jersey City/Newport/Hoboken area beginning Sept 1st. She has taken care of my son from the time he was 2 months old until now (21 months), and we unfortunately have to let her go because we are moving out of state. She is young (late 30's), energetic, trustworthy, reliable, and an excellent caretaker. She is well-versed with baby food needs at different stages and also does baby massages. With regard to household chores, she is a very good vegetarian cook (including rotis and parathas), does all laundry as well as light cleaning. I highly recommend her!
