You should make an appointment to be seen at a Regional Passport Agency only if:

• The U.S. passport is needed in less than 2 weeks for international travel
• The U.S. passport is needed within 4 weeks to obtain a foreign visa

Service at post office

NewportMommy members have been able to get passports renewed at the following locations as well. The passport has to be submitted along with all the required forms and is sent back within 2 weeks.

A very skinny version of the requirements (just for basic info):

1. Go to the post office at exchange place 
2. Carry the birth certificate of the child (original copy)
3. Make sure you have 2 copies of the application form completely filled out
4. Get the passport size picture of your baby
5. Both parents ID drivers license to validate identity and address proof
6. Both parents need to be present for the visit at the post office with baby
