Description:
HPMS Summer Camp is led by our excellent teaching staff and open to children ages 3 through 11. Students explore thematic topics in two-week periods. In addition to the featured themes, all students enjoy swimming, soccer, art and music classes, and time in the park. Kindergarten and Elementary level children will also enjoy tennis.
Sessions are four weeks long, however, special consideration can be made for students to attend a two-week session. Limited space is available for this consideration.
Session 1 (June 22 through July 17; 4 weeks, no camp on July 3)
Creepy Crawlers (June 22 though July 2)
During the summer, especially, we see many bugs, insects and arachnids around us. Come with us and explore in depth about these fascinating creatures! We will enjoy a visit from Mr. Rizzo’s insects and a field trip to the Bronx Zoo to learn more about these creepy crawlers!
Planes, Trains & Automobiles (July 6 through July 17)
Over these two weeks we are going to learn more about the modes of transportation that help us get where we want to go! We’ll enjoy a field trip to the Intrepid Air, Sea & Space Museum.
Session 2 (July 20 through August 14; 4 weeks)
3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . . Blast Off! (July 20 through July 31)
We will discover each of the eight planets through hands-on activities, enjoy both fiction and non-fiction stories, and have a ‘blast’ at the New York Hall of Science!
Under the Sea (August 3 through August 14)
We’ll have a fun time exploring fish, seashells, marine mammals, coral reefs, and various aquatic plants through cooking projects, books, hands-on activities, music, movements and games! We will also take a field trip to the American Museum of Natural History to learn more about ocean life
