Event Description

Yesterday, I came across this beautiful quote about mathematics and thought to share it with you; it came from Sofia Kovalevskaya, and she said it brilliantly:

" Many who have had an opportunity of knowing anymore about mathematics confuse it with arithmetic, and consider it an arid science. In reality, however, it is a science which requires a great amount of imagination."

That is mathematics; it is ought to be fun and entertaining and simple as in its core of the most basic of any mathematics, the idea of precision is always intact with it. To reach a precision, we need a great amount of imagination.

Imagine is we could send this message to our children! Our children thought imagination belongs to art class; they seldom and probably would never thought that imagination is also applied in math. Why? most times, math is conducted in a very technical way, hence it could be somewhat misinterpreted as a "boring and hard" subject.

I LOVE mathematics! I am learning and teaching mathematics through LOGIC, which is defined as a thinking process, step by step, that will get through my students to go beyond knowing to the understanding of a mathematical concept. When a student goes beyond knowing the concept, a student will be more daring to use his/her imagination in coming up with problem solving. To me, the right answer ought to be the result of mathematics and not the goal of learning mathematics. That way, the imagination of how to learn math is opened up and mathematics become more fun and entertaining.

I can write for pages about it. If you want your child to experience on how I teach and learn mathematics in the classroom, please join me on the 30-minutes trial class.
