Hi,

I am new to US and obviously new to NJ. I am looking for Pre-Kindergarten school for my 4.3 year old son. I am residing in Newport and was wondering if you guys can provide us some input regarding good schools. Have visited many but looks like there is not much of the spot available.

Looking forward for the responses.

Thanks.

My older child is in Learning Ladders Preschool. We really like it there so perhaps call then and see if they have an opening in PreK4 program. I take my child to Prek3 and from the looks of it its a very personal, intimate, smaller setting in Prek4 which leads me to believe that they might be able to fit your child in their class.

Hi Shimona,

Did you find any school for ur son? Actually we recently shifted and also new to this place, we are looking public school or affordable private school for our 4.5 yrs old daughter.

Thanks.

Ruchika

Hey Ruchika,

I am assuming your daughter will also be admitted to Pre-K as she is not 5 yet. Frankly we were able to get only one or 2 school which were still admitting new students. Frankly, we were not looking for public school so don't know abt them how it works. Two schools were Exchange place Bright horizon and River school Newport. Already paid registration fee for Exchange place :( and then finally got a spot in River school which is 5 mins from my place.

hope this helps

Thanks Shimona...will check with these schools as well... :)

Dear Ruchika,

for info on public schools, pl log onto the jersey city board of education website -

Good luck,

Regards,

Priti Zaveri.

Thanks Priti..

We have called JCBOE  for registration in preschool program but seems there are no space available so they have put us on the waiting list. Not sure whether we will be getting any call, so we are looking for private preschool nearby.

Thanks.
