Hi! I'm looking for a babysitter on weekdays from 12-4 p.m. starting as soon as possible for the whole school year. I have two daughters (7 years and 16 months) but the sitter would primarily be for my 16-month-old. The job would involve picking up my 16-month-old from daycare at 12 pm, bringing her home, feeding her lunch, putting her down for a nap and then interacting with her when she wakes up. 2-3 times per week, I would also need someone to pick up my older daughter from school and walk her back home and give both kids a snack.

Hi All,

Re-posting this ad for my nanny from Jersey City days: Please consider her for your newborn, her calm demeanor had a lot of positive effects on our child.

We are looking for a long-term babysitting position for our loving nanny Gauri. We are relocating. She started taking care of our little one since she was 7 days old and have been with us ever since (almost 2 years). She is always on time and pretty much the household is left to her all week (5 days - monday through friday- full day) She does all the duties related to baby (cooking baby food from scratch, bathing, laundry, playtime, bottles etc) from day 1 with minimal supervision ( I outlined my expectation on the 1st day and she consistently remembers the instructions), light cleaning and cooking for us (everyday). Additionally she picks up our older kid from after school and helps with her bathing and fooding. She maintains the household grocery list+baby items. 

Gauri also very calm and patient person. She has extensive experience with newborns and even twins.

WARNING: Do not hire nanny Asha Patel.

She provided a false reference: Duriben - who is her family member. She lied about her age when starting. She is only mid 20s and has no prior experience.

I am a work at home mom who was able to watch how Asha is as nanny and I want to warn all mothers about people like Asha who are manipulative. I wish I had this knowledge prior to hiring her.

She claims to have a restaurant open in NY and is very preoccupied with that. She is very defensive and moody. She is often in a bad mood and sleepy (yawning all day) which affects her interaction with my 8 mo old.

She says she cooks. Her style of cooking is using vegetables and all the masala without onions/garlic/ginger/tomato etc. Basically anything that would take time.

1. She does not interact with the baby at all
2. She is not a clean person. She does not clean up after the baby. There are many days of me running after her cleaning up after she feeds my baby and after play time. What is heart breaking is she gives him toys to play with while he eats and doesn’t clean them and he gets dirty toys to play with while she sits him in his high chair which she doesn’t clean well.
3. She doesn’t follow directions to make baby food. She has given my baby food without testing the temperature after she gets it straight from the fridge or microwave. This is very dangerous and I explained to her several times and she was unable to change.
4. She is unreliable with her availability. She mentioned several times she wants to go and work at the restaurant. She cant be trusted to stick around for part time or full time. She just texts she can’t make it to work. She also repeatedly says there are many jobs for me. seems like a very proud human being. She is using nanny job as “easy” cash. She is lazy and cannot follow directions and very defensive when you try to explain to her how to do things. She is not patient and is not flexible at all. She is often answering her cell phone while working. I don’t need some who is passionate about being a nanny, but babies/children/ families deserve someone who is sincere

Hi, my daughter got admission in a school closer to our home and I am in no need for a full time nanny now. She is great with my daughter (2.5 year old) and can cook delicious vegetarian Indian food. She is efficient and does cleaning and laundry as well. I intend to continue with her for only 3 hours/ day starting Sep, she is available for a part time or 6 hours job. Hello, would really appreciate any recommendations. We are looking for a full time nanny (M-F - 8 am - 6:30 pm) in Hoboken for our twin girls will soon be 3 years old. They will be attending day care part-time. Nanny will be responsible for drop-off and pick-up to daycare which is just a 2 min walk from our building. Looking for someone who is joyful and patient and enjoys playing and engaging with kids - reading to them, taking them to the park, library, setting up playdates etc. Bonus if you have experience with toddlers and can speak English and Hindi. Would prefer someone who is open to light-housekeeping and cooking while kids are at daycare. Start date August 20th.
