Happy Mother's Day 2016 : "As A Oneself, As A Mother….Not The Other Way Around…"

I wrote a blog a year ago for Mother’s Day, and as I remembered myself who wrote it, I know for sure that it was not the same “me” right in this minute. I do not grow an inch taller, I do not grow one inch wider ( as I certainly told my Mirror to tell me this!! ha..ha..), and I certainly do not look any different on the surface from  a year ago, well... except probably a wrinkle or two that I have come to deny it... However, I have grown miles and miles further from a year go…

Its All True - Part 2

When I first arrived in the US.. little did I know that the glamor of the Big Apple wears off fast enough for people who are pampered at home with moms cooking, help in the kitchen etc etc etc.. I quite literally did not know how to boil an egg.

Fast forward 12 yrs and counting, I know how to work my way around the kitchen. I have experimented with spices, followed YouTube videos half way through (and then decided that my Cooking Math/Science is essentially a perfect Art!) and…

Its all true.. Part 1

Vaseline Jelly jar

I have no patience for pedicures and as a result, most of the time, the soles of my feet are cracked and gory! While I dont like sitting down in one place for a pedicure, I love spending on a variety of products. So I have bought all kinds of ' cracked heel' ointments and creams, various kinds of machines and must honestly report that they are safely sitting in my closet (used once at the most).

But this winter, I decided to dedicate 2 mins of…

Love your Smile this Valentines Day from Newport Dental Arts

Brush and floss.

Kissing couples can share up to 500 species of germs, including some that cause gum disease. Brush teeth twice a day for at least two minutes and floss once a day to eliminate bacteria that lurk between your teeth.

Get sweet on chocolate.

Don't stress about Valentine's chocolates when it comes to your teeth. Unlike hard or gummy candies, chocolate doesn't cling to your teeth and your saliva is able to wash the sugar away. But you still have to… Continue

Where the Urban meets Suburban...Why I love & Work in Montclair/Glen Ridge neighborhood

My move to the suburban world began almost 11 years back. I had lived in big cities all my life and the thought of moving to the suburbs was daunting to say the least.

My husband urged by relatives told me it was a good time to buy a house.

I was new to the country as well as a new mom. We lived in ‘immigrant heaven’ Jersey City waterfront where I could walk to everything and form friendships in the elevator of my building. This made me resistant to this idea of moving to the…

Holiday greeting ideas for procrastinators!

It’s that time of the year when some of you have probably sent out several copies of your kid's best photos to family and friends wishing them a happy holiday season and yet another group has realized today that its a tad bit late to send anything saying "Happy Holidays" out. (I belong to the latter group - I haven't sent any cards out.)

I totally believe that it’s a good idea to send heartfelt wishes to near and dear ones AND…

Connecting Logic to Reading and Math--Intermediate Level ( 7 through 10 years old)

Happy Father's Day!! As I shared a poem and article on Mother's Day, I thought I would share a poem and a fun learning time that Dads ( and Moms) can do with the child. This time, it is for students as young as first grade through fifth grade.

I hope all Fathers enjoyed the beautiful Father's Day; we thought it was going to be a rainy one, however, it turned out to be a beautiful and lovely day. The blessings that we get….surprising and multiplied...…

Connecting ELA and Math with Logic---3.5 through 7 years old

June 8, 2015 ( a beautiful and lovely Monday)

It has been a month since my  last post on the importance of understanding and acknowledging Multiple Intelligences in children's learning process.
